Neil: Hi, I'm Neil Braithwaite. I work for the Co-operative Group. I'm the Managing Director for Specialist Retail Business.
Peter: Hi, I'm Peter Rowley, Regional Chief Officer Co-operative Food Retail, Central and Eastern Region.
Donna: My name is Donna Butler and I'm the Manageress here and we are talking about raising funds for RNID.
Neil: Today was the second leg of our long bike ride. We started in Stoke on Wednesday, cycled to Milton Keynes and then from Milton Keynes down to London today. We are looking forward to the next leg, moving on from London tomorrow down to Paris over the weekend. We're really looking forward to that.
Peter: I completed the London triathlon today, motivated mainly to do the triathlon to get fit, to lose weight and also to raise money for RNID.
Neil: We have all collectively raised funds. I think I'm around about the £5,000 mark and colleagues together have probably raised another £5,000 so we're hoping to raise £10,000 for the good cause.
Donna: I am the charity champ for the area and on my area we have 14 stores which I have to gear up to raise money. So far we have raised over £12,000. As an area and as a region we have raised over £44,000.
Peter: We have raised just over £1,000. I think everybody within Co-operative group is astounded that people with hearing difficulties number over nine million here in the UK. That's just a staggering figure that people didn't realise and I think that's motivated not only me but thousands of colleagues in Co-operative Retail who have done the most amazing things to raise money for RNID and it's great.
Donna: We do enjoy it. All my staff get behind me really well, it's really good. We do quiz nights and we have fundraising there and raffles and we have done bike rides. We have dress down days and we did a bike ride from store to store, which was near enough 40 miles, and also the Manchester run.
Neil: We couldn't have raised the funds we did without all the help from colleagues at RNID. The fundraising team have been fantastic supporting us throughout the event and helping us with all our fundraising activities as well. It's been really helpful. All the team at RNID have been really supportive, very helpful and great to work with.
Donna: I would encourage anybody to get involved with the charity and help raise money. It's been a really worthy cause and really great fun.
